The harness racing stake season continues at Century Downs with two Alberta-sired finals. A field of nine colts & geldings will battle over $53,600 in the ABSS Maverick Finals in race nine.
A couple of races later in the eleventh, nine fillies will have their chance in the $54,200 ABSS Marquis Final.

A Jamie Gray-trained and driven Colts upset both eliminations last week. The first elimination winner, Yyc On The Horizon (Vertical Horizon) won at 27-1 and paced the mile in a personal best 1:55. It was only his second career win and his first since he upset the Mooreās Mile Breedersā Stake elimination at 16-1. In Yyc On The Horizonās other six starts, he has never finished better than fourth. Gray co-owns the gelding with Wild Dunes Stables. Ā David Kelly will jump in the bike on Saturday because Gray will be teamed up with his other entry.
YYC ON THE HORIZON REPLAY
Grayās other entry and the winner of the second elimination isĀ Come On Santana (Santanna Blue Chip). It was a 5-1 betting upset and Come On Santan also posted a personal best mile of 1:53.4. It was also his second win of the year but his seventh of his career. In 13 lifetime starts, Come On Santana has finished in the top three on 11 occasions. Gray co-owns with Max Gibb and Riley and Brie Gray.

The 6-5 morning line favourite, Grey Horizon (Vertical Horizon) finished just behind Yyc On The Horizon last week but has been one of the top three-year-olds so far this summer. In five starts, he has won twice and finished second place three times. In his 14 career starts, she has won seven and finished second place six times. He only has one finished outside the top three which was a seventh in the ABSS Marksman eliminations this May. Brandon Campbell trains and will be in the bike. Grey Horizon is owned by Jodi Loftus, Raymond Henry and George Rogers.

She ended her streak with a second-place finish in the Shirley McClellan Breedersā Stake Final. After that, she put together back-to-back wins and her latest was a 1:53 performance in the elimination. She hasnāt finished worse than second since her first two career starts last year.
OUTLAWGUNS N ROSES REPLAY
Oye Coma Va (Santanna Blue Chip) upset the second elimination at 6-1. She paced the mile in 1:57.3 for her third career win. All of her wins have come this year, and she has finished in the top three seven times in ten starts. She will likely need to match her lifetime mark of 1:55.4 if she wants to win on Saturday.
