Tess Waxman earned her first career harness racing training victory on Tuesday (Jul. 15) at Georgian Downs in her fourth start.
Capt Jack Hanover (Captaintreacherous), whom she became the trainer of two weeks ago, briefly took the pocket before circling to the front before the half. The gelding then held off all comers for driver Colin Kelly, pacing home to a length-and-a-half win in 1:55.3.
CAPT JACK HANOVER REPLAY
Waxman made her training debut on Jul. 6 at Georgian with Oakwood Cowboy Ir, finishing sixth. Capt Jack Hanover got the trainer on the board for the first time three days later and came back to win for her on Tuesday. Claude Baril of Mascouche has owned Capt Jack Hanover since claiming the six-year-old in May and sent him to Waxman at the end of June. The gelding is now 17-for-83 lifetime with $234,891 in earnings.
The next card at Georgian Downs is scheduled for Saturday, Jul. 20.
