Star trotter London To A Brick (Bettors Delight) continued his affiliation with the Queensland Constellations Carnival when he scored a narrow harness racing win in the Group 1 Queensland Trotters Cup at Albion Park.

London To A Brick was off early in the race to sit parked outside the $1.60 favorite Gus as the pair matched strides for the last 1600 metres of the race.

London To A Brick was left in front after Gus galloped around the final bend and the James Rattray trained and driven four-year-old dug deep in the home straight to stave off the challenges scoring by half a head from Adelle and Mufasa Metro in a track record mile rate of 1:56.

The pacing bred son of Bettors Delight burst onto the scene 12 months ago when he took out the Group 1 The Great Square during the carnival at Albion Park.

Rattray said it was his intention to keep Gus well within his sights during the race.

“He’s raced well throughout the carnival from tricky draws and we gave it every shot tonight,” Rattray said.

“We didn’t want Pete (McMullen) to get away with easy sectionals like he did last week so we just had to give it a shot,” he said.

Rattray said London To A Brick will be aimed at the Inter Dominion later in the year

“He’s a beautiful horse who is great to do anything with and he’s a very good racehorse,” he said.

“We’ll get him home and he’ll have a short break and get him ready for the Inter Dominion.”
