Harness racing will resume in the south when the Winton Club kicks off the second half of the season tomorrow at Central Southland Raceway.
The Oamaru stable of Matthew Williamson has been in good form over the winter and heāll take five runners south for the seven race card.
The day begins with first starter Son E (Sundon), a half-brother to the talented trotter Hurricane Hill which won eight of his nineteen starts for Matthewās father Phil. Heās one of the last Sundons going round and has been to just the one trial.
Hayley Robyn (Sportswriter) takes her place in Race Three and of the six runners has the best form in the mobile mile.
In Race Four Williamson will line up first starter Mind Philly (Art Major). The three year old filly qualified for Canterbury trainer Regan Todd as a two year old and has had two trials for her new trainer.
Last start winner Sargent Best (Art Major) gets his chance in Race Six but will have to overcome an inside draw on the second row.
In Race Seven Williamson lines up another last start winner in Terra Sancta (Sportswriter). She was a good winner at Addington and should be match fit for the 2400 metre mobile.
