Plainville, MA — Last week, class relief helped Sidd Finch (Credit Winner) run off the screen by five lengths. Then on Thursday (Aug. 1) afternoon, despite climbing back up the ladder, Sidd Finch won again by more and faster as he captured the $20,000 featured harness racing trot at Plainridge Park.
Drew Cambell steered Sidd Finch to the top off the gate and had a two-length lead at the :27.4 quarter, and from there his lead only grew. Sidd Finch got to the half in :57.1 and three-quarters in 1:25.1 as he extended his advantage to four lengths.
As the field tried to keep up as best they could, Drew and Sidd rounded the last turn and trotted home alone to win by 5-¾ lengths in 1:53.1, taking a new seasonal mark.
It was the eighth win of the year for Sidd Finch ($3.20) and pushed his 2024 earnings to $86,255 for owner John Barnard. Irwin Rosenthal trains the winner.
