Harness News Update: Picks & Analysis for Century Downs Aug. 9th

A nine-dash card full of harness racing action is set for Friday (Aug. 9) at Century Downs. The notable wagers are the Pick 5, which kicks off the card in race one and the $1 minimum Pick 4 which starts in the sixth

The $12,500 Fillies & Mares Preferred headlines the card and comes in the sixth race.  The six-year-old mare If Only Id Known (Shadow Play) defeated the class her last time out in 1:56.2.  She picked up her fourth win of the year and the 20th of her career. Christopher Lancaster trains If Only Id Known and Phillip Giesbrecht will be in the bike.

Gotta Wear Shades (Custard The Dragon) is moving up in class after a big 1:55 win last week.  It was her first win of the year and her first win since 2022! The five-year-old mare will have her work cut out for her but has shown she has the speed to compete against the top mares. John Vukelich trains Gotta Wear Shades and Robert Scrannage will be in the sulky once again.
