The field set for the 44th Annual Charity Driver’s Challenge to close out Clinton Raceway’s 15 week, 2024 harness racing season.

Sunday, September 1, race fans will say farewell to another season of racing at the Huron County Oval with the annual driver’s challenge. This year will once again feature the top six dash winning drivers in Canada plus the top two from Clinton.

James MacDonald, Travis Henry, Garret Rooney, Tyler Borth, Travis Cullen and Samuel Fillion will join J. Harris and Todd Ratchford as your eight driver’s on the day’s ten race card. All driver’s will be donating their fees from the day to three local Royal Canadian Legion Branches. Clinton, Seaforth and Exeter will be on hand raising funds for each respective branch.

In addition to the 50/50 and silent auction happening trackside, the day will also feature the final Chicken BBQ under the current grandstand. With a new facility slated to open for racing in 2025 this dinner will close out a 47 year history of race day dinners. Tickets for the Pineridge 1/2 Chicken Dinner are $25 (with $10 from each ticket being donated to the branches) and can be reserved by contacting Jessica Carnochan at Clinton Raceway (jessicacarnochan@gmail.com)

Ontario Sires Stakes two-year-old filly pacers will be featured on track, and Clinton Raceway will honour all caretakers as part of Standardbred Canada’s Caretaker Appreciation Day.

Arrive early to take part in the Driver’s Challenge drawing for the chance to win up to $500 and stick around following the day’s card to take in the RCMP Musical Ride, hosted by REACH and the Bayfield Agricultural Society.
