Warrawee Xalt (Royalty For Life) won his second Rideau Carleton Raceway Preferred Trot in three harness racing starts on Thursday (Aug. 15).
Ryan Guy put him on the lead early to the quarter in :29.1 before making way for Black Tie Bash (Robert Shepherd), looking for his second straight win at the class. The latter put up :57.2 and 1:25.4 fractions in the middle splits and held a clear lead into the final turn. Black Tie Bash vacated the passing lane coming down the stretch, and Warrawee Xalt charged up the pylons to beat him by a length in 1:54.4. Black Tie Bash came home second with a length over Meadowbranch Noble (Samuel Fillion) in third.

Warrawee Xalt is now six-for-20 this season and hasnāt missed a cheque since moving to Rideau Carleton in May. Patrick Dillon trains the gelding and co-owns him with Patti Hoskin of Port Hope. The five-year-old has earned $256,380 and won 19 of 70 lifetime starts.
The top-level pacers will battle in a Preferred Handicap on Rideau Carletonās next card on Sunday, Aug. 18.
