Down Under Winners from North America – 20th August

Awaywego, a Sunshine Beach gelding bred in NSW, became the 350th 1:50 harness racing horse bred in Australasia when he clocked 1:49.8 winning a $15,200 race at Hoosier Park, Indiana on Friday (August 16).

The Vincent mare Turn The Page notched her fourth success for the season when she came from midfield to capture the $25,000 feature in 1:51.2 at Plainridge Park on Tuesday (August 13). The Victorian bred The Panthiest was 1-1/4 lengths behind in second placing. 

Infinite Symbol, a daughter of Indominatable Saab, took full advantage of the passing lane to win a $11,500 conditioned race for fillies and mares in 1:53.2 at The Meadows on Wednesday (August 14). The win pushed up earnings to almost $US280,000. 

Meanwhile, the Always B Miki gelding Ever Hoping hoisted the fastest mile of the season in Maine when he won the $15,000 Walter H. Hight Memorial Invitation in 1:52.8 at the annual Skowhegan State Fair on Sunday (August 18). His time was just 0.2 outside the divisional track record.
