Stash The Cookies (Sunfire Blue Chip) won her second straight harness racing Fillies and Mares Preferred at Century Downs on Friday (Aug. 23) to increase her seasonal total to five.
She briefly accepted the pocket before circling to the lead at the first station in :28 and reigned unopposed through the :56.2 half and 1:24 three-quarters. Brandon Campbell pushed her throttle forward going around the final turn, picking up several lengths of cushion, and the mare cruised home to score over Outlaw Sharktastic (Nathan Sobey) in 1:53.1. Outlaw Sharktastic finished second. Pirate Booty (Terry Kaufman) was third.

Stash The Cookies had dominated the top distaff ranks of Alberta for the past three seasons. John Chappell trains the eight-year-old for Derek Gilbert of Brandon. The mare is 35-for-107 lifetime with $355,984 in earnings.
Campbell collected four driving wins on the nine-dash card.
Racing will continue at Century Downs on Saturday, Aug. 24 with the first of 11 races set for 12:45 p.m. MDT.Ā The card features eliminations for the Alberta Sires Stakes Princess and Plainsmen and Shark Week in the Preferred.
