Here are some of the harness racing fines and suspensions in the USA as reported by state racing commissions to the United States Trotting Association.
Dan Deslandes has been suspended from racing for six months after an off-track incident at the Skowhegan Fair on 8/13/24. Mr. Deslandes actions following the 7th race in the paddock area were conduct detrimental to the best interest of horse racing. It is not known yet if the ruling has been appealed.
Christopher Dubois has been fined $1,000 and suspended for 60 days as his horse, Maczaffair N, was tested positive for TCO2 at Saratoga Harness on 3/12/24. It is not known yet if the ruling has been appealed.
Marion Chupp has been fined $1,000 and suspended for ten days. His horse, Mach Stockn Barrel was found to be positive for Alternogest at Northfield Park on 7/12/24. This is Mr. Chuppās second positive test in the last year.
Williams Hernandez has been fined $1,000 for failure to obey the instructions of a racing official at Running Aces on 8/19/24. Mr. Hernandez had 4 horses entered and failed to have them on the grounds by 9:00 am as instructed. The driver of the vehicle wrote in 9:00 am but the actual time witnessed on camera noted by security is 9:38 am.
