Gocciadoro wins both divisions of Citta’di Follonica

The filly and colt harness racing divisions of the Gran Premio Citta’di Follonica in Italy are in the books raced over this fast 1400-meter oval.

The mare division (purse 66,000€, 2200 meters autostart, 12 starters four-year-old females) went to 1.12.2kr timed and 1.3/1 odds East Asia (4f Ready Cash-Elvezia-Pine Chip) driven by her trainer Alessandro Gocciadoro. Jean Pierre Barjon owns this six-time winner of 266,720€. Sant’Andrea SRl bred this fine mare.

Eloida (4f Napoleon Bar-Irmass) was second at 12.7/1 odds for Mario Minopoli Jr. with Elise Ana third at 7.1/1, this one a four-year-old mare by Maharajah-Carlos Goldie with Antonio Di Nardo aboard that led at the 600-meter mark and then yielded to the eventual easy winner.

The four-year-old males then contested the Gran Premio Citta’di Fallonica (purse 66,000€, 2200 meters autostart, four-year-old males) and 2.6/1 odds Executiv EK (4m Face Time Bourbon-Nike EK-Varenne) with trainee Gocciadoro aboard for the winner’s 11th victory now for 237,603€ earned.

Encierro (4m Tobin Kronos-Olvera) was a very game second at 7.2/1 odds with Gaspar Le Verde driving. Eddy Girifalco Gio (4m Victory Gio-Mururoa As) was third at 10.4/1 with Antonio Di Nardo at the lines. Race time was 1.12.1kr.
