Charron wins Norsk Travderby

The Bjerke featured Norsk Travderby (purse to winner 71,587€, 2600 meters autostart, four year olds) saw 10/1 Charron (4m Code Bon-Golden Feline-Look de Star) rally late to win in 1.13.0kr for harness racing trainer/driver Geir Vegard Gundersen and owner Morten Langli.

This was Charron’s seventh career victory in 17 starts with four wins coming this year in eight tries.

Just Like Heaven (4m Maharajah-Tears In Heaven-Muscle Hill) was a game second at 1.26/1 favorite odds driven by Magnus Teien Gundersen for Stall Heaven Can Wait. Third was 16.3/1 Powwow (4m Papagayo E-Tamaya-Muscle Hill) handled by Lars Anvar.

On the undercard the Karsten Buers Minne (purse to winner 10,527€ or 125,000NOK, 2100 meters autostart) went to parked throughout Stoletheshow (9m Dream Vacation– Abba Hall-Garland Lobell) reined by Tom Erik Solberg for trainer Frode Hamre and Global Glide AB.

Timed in 1.11.9kr the winner now has 36 career wins in 99 starts with nine victories this year in 13 appearances. Off at 2.8/1 Stoletheshow bested 1.6/1 pacesetter Beartime (9g Pastor Stephen-Global Ninni-Love You) with Ole Johan Ostre aboard for trainer Helena Edlund.

Third home was 30.9/1 Type A (6m Southwind Frank– Up Front Laura-Andover Hall) with Magnus Teien Gundersen driving for Frode Hamre.

The Norsk Travkriterium (purse to winner 54,743€, 2100 meters autostart, three year olds) saw 7/1 odds Nadal BR (3m Googoo Gaagaa-Gaga BR-Muscle Hill) score timed in 1.14.0kr with Magnus Teien Gundersen driving for trainer Geir Vegard Gundersen.

Nadal BR now posts five wins in eight career starts all in ’24. Timestile BR (3m Readly Express-G Fifty-Q Forty Five) was second as the 2/1 odds favorite driven by Tom Erik Solberg for conditioner Malena Bendalen. Third was 3/1 second choice Felix Halbak (3m Orlando Vici-La Dolce Vita-Jag de Bellouet) with trainer Oystein Tjomsland at the lines.

In France it was reported that the classy Gu d’Heripre was again sidelined this time with colic and was moved to Namure clinic in Belgium.

This week the ninth leg of the GNT trotting series will vbe at Le Mans with 27 trotteur enaged led by Igrec de Celland the points leader.
