Click Bait takes out Premio Campionato Europeo Gruppo

Cesena Savio Ippodromo hosted the Premio Campionato Europeo (September 7) on its 800 meter oval as the field raced two heats with post positions reversed for 11,000€ each leg with the heat winners going a raceoff for 132,000€.

Each race covered 1660 meters autostart. The raceoff saw 1.13.1/1 Click Bait lead throughout for the big victory with Roberto Vecchione driving for new trainer Alessandro Gocciadoro. Time was not reported.

Click Bait (8m Cantab Hall-Fun At Parties-Lindy Lane) was bred in the US by Russell C. Williams of Hanover, PA, the owner of Hanover Shoe Farms and USTA CEO. Click Bait won the first leg timed in 1.12.2kr defeating 3.5/1 Denver Gio (5m Southwind Frank-Swan Wise As) handled by V.P. Dell’Annunziata with 9.4/1 odds Capital Mail (6m Nad Al Sheba-Unicona Golden) home third for Antonio Di Nardo. The 38.4/1 Chance EK (6f Nad Al Sheba-Ukase EK) was fourth for reinsman Pietro Gubellini.

In the second leg the 4.2/1 odds Chance EK now from post one scored in 1.12.6kr for Gubellini and trainer Fausto Barelli.

Capital Mail was second from post two at 1.7/1 favorite odds with 44.9/1 Akela Pal Ferm (8f Maharajah-Temilla di Palle) third with Francesco Paolo Caruso aboard with 39.7/1 odds Amon You (8m Love You-Emon Sante Fe’AM fourth with Crescenzo Maione driving.

Click Bait was eighth at 6.1/1 and was never in the hunt.
