Barlett gets five NY Excelsior Finals at Vernon

Vernon Downs played host to eight NY Excelsior Finals for a purse of $55,000 each with harness racing driver Jason Bartlett earning five victories on Friday (Sep13).

These are in the order they ran.

Habanaro Blues (EL Titan-Habanero Honey) charged late to win the 2-year-old colts & geldings trot.  The gelding won in a lifetime best of 1:56.4.  Low Inside (Dan Daley) was second best.  Poblano (Jason Bartlett) finished third.

HABANARO BLUES REPLAY

Habanaro Blues is owned by Fiddlers Creek Stables and trained by Travis Alexander.  It was his second career victory.

Fashion Terror (Huntsville-High Fashion Model, Jason Bartlett) cruised to an easy win in the 2-year-old fillies pace final.  The filly won in a lifetime best of 1:53.2.  Princess America (Matt Kakely) finished second.  Feeling Right (Mark MacDonald) was third.

FASHION TERROR REPLAY

She is owned by All Star Racing and trained by Mark Ford.  It was her fourth win in seven lifetime starts.

Inn Of The Stars (Chapter Seven-Met’s Inn, Jason Bartlett) captured the 2-year-old fillies trot final.  The filly equaled her lifetime best of 1:57.0.  Flashchap (Jordan Stratton) was second.  Tuff Stuff (John Stark Jr.) finished third.

INN OF THE STARS REPLAY

Inn Of The Stars is owned by Bay Pond Racing and trained by John Butenshoen.  She now has four wins in seven lifetime starts.

Tempville (Huntsville, Jordan Stratton) held on to win the 3-year-old fillies pace final in a lifetime best of 1:52.1.  OBJ (Matt Kakaley) finished second.  Petrol Queen (Braxten Boyd) was third.

TEMPVILLE REPLAY

Tempville is owned by the Purple Haze Stables and trained by George Ducharme.  It was her ninth win in 14 career starts.

It Wasn’t Me (Chapter Seven, Jason Bartlett) wins the 3-year-old colts & geldings trot final in 1:54.2.  Ramborain (Mark MacDonald) finished second.  Sky Box (Wally Hennessey) was third.

IT WASN’T ME REPLAY

It Wasn’t Me is owned by Big Sky Ranch and trained by Michelle Warner.  It was his second win this season.  He now has three career victories.

Invictus (Huntsville-Dark Force) hung on to win the 2-year-old colts & geldings pace final in a lifetime best of 1:53.0.  Digging For Gold (Jordan Stratton) finished second.  Groovin Will (Greg Merton was third.

INVICTUS REPLAY

Invictus (Jason Bartlett) is owned by Jeffrey Nanna and trained by Roland Mallar.  It was his third career victory.

Nymeria (Chapter Seven, Matt Kakaley) dominated the 3-year-old fillies trot final in a lifetime best of 1:54.0.  Erin (Dan Daley) was second.  Central Park (Marcus Miller) finished third.

NYMERIA REPLAY

Travis Alexander trains Nymeria for owners Alexander M Spacc, Fiddlers Creek Stables, Tar Heal Racing and Lone Wolf Stable. It was her eighth career victory.

Escape To America (American Ideal, Jason Bartlett) slipped by to grab the 3-year-old colts & geldings pace final in 1:51.4.  Pop It (Mark MacDonald) finished second.  Ideal Par (Matt Kakaley) was third.

ESCAPE TO AMERICA REPLAY

Escape To America is trained by Deborah Daguet for owners John Darrah and Lawrence Keethe.  It was his sixth win this season and ninth career victory.

Vernon Downs returns to live racing on Saturday (September 14) starting at 6:05 p.m.
