Hobby trainer Warren Greene’s first foray in the breeding space, four-year-old harness racing mare, Luna Dream (Bling It On) is set to chase Vicbred Silver pace success at Bendigo on Wednesday night.
The winner of only two-races has been knocking on the door of her third win, placing in five of her last six starts.
“She is looking good and has had some good form leading into this week,” Greene said. ” We are hopeful she will run well this week.
The mare has been a work in progress for the 61-year-old.
“It’s the first horse that we bred and she had a really good spell when she won a race and was showing a bit of promise,” he said.
“She had a few problems early this year with her being fierce, so we tried hard to get her to calm down.
“Recently with a couple of good performances is where she has really started to relax.”
In recent time the pacer has been able to calm down.
“I worked her yesterday and she has really been able to relax, up until four months ago it was a real battle to put the sulky on her,” he said.
In-form reinsman James Herbertson will pilot the gelding who has drawn 11 for the 2150m trip.
“Depending on what happens at the start, if there are a number of horses who want to go forward and lead, that might open up a few spots for us to slot into,” he said.
“From (barrier) 11 I will just leave it up to him (Herbertson) and see where we land.”
The warm favourite the Greg Norman-prepared Delightfull Tammy has drawn one with Kerryn Manning set to pilot.
The Vicbred Super Series Silver pace for four-year-old mares set to go at 8.02pm.
