Monalishi (Green Manalishi S) stayed perfect in the Ontario Sires Stakes as she rebounded from her Mohawk Million harness racing loss in the fifth Gold leg for two-year-old trotting fillies on Monday (Sep. 30) at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
Away fifth in a :28 first panel, James MacDonald sent her first-over as Foxy Amee (Paul MacDonell) made front at the half in :57.4. Monalishi put her under pressure, going toe-to-toe at three-quarters in 1:26.3.
Monalishi took over at the top of the stretch, but Lil Sweet (Doug McNair) came off her back and uncorked a late charge. She rapidly reeled in the leader in the last eighth of a mile, but Monalishi hung on by a head to secure the victory in 1:54.3.
Lil Sweet finished second. Foxy Amee was third.

His second move carried him back to the top, and, despite drifting out in the stretch, he held off Galen Erso (Doug McNair) to win by a length in 1:55.
Galen Erso secured the place cheque. Chicago Hall (Chris Christoforou) closed from seventh to third.

James MacDonald ordered her to the lead from the pocket on the backside, and the filly headed the field into the stretch. P L Rainbow Dash (Bob McClure) and No One (McNair) bore down on either side of her in deep-stretch, but Willys Home Run kept them both at bay to complete the win in 1:53.

The gelding, with Tyler Jones at the lines, sat third until shifting out onto cover approaching three-quarters. He rolled by both of the former top two in the stretch to a 1:52.4 career-best victory by a length-and-three-quarters. Ways N Means (McNair) finished second over Captain Wania (Trevor Henry) in a wave of closers.
