Harness racing hits Methven again today with eleven races on the card. The racing starts at 12:20pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Race 1

Aroha (3) Running on last start on grass and drawn to suit. Even field but has claims
Diamond Harbour (14) Ok run last start and grass suits. One for longer odds in this field
Tinkerbelle (12) Makes mistakes but big on ability. Freshened and could surprise here

Race 2

Oneroa (5) Consistent and weaker field here. Winning claims with a good run in transit
Brandi Snapp (1) This looks an ideal race for here and she looks a good bet from the draw
Elektra King (10) Drawn to follow the leaders and has the speed to be a great chance

Race 3

Melton Magnate (7) Racing well in similar fields. Should go close here with a good trip
Verducci (9) Gets conditions to suit. Wide draw but will be roaring home late. Needed
Ohoka Nico (5) Will be improved and likely to head forward early. Winning claims

Race 4

Rock Lobster (17) Manners the key but he looks over the odds if he trots all the way. Include
Schoemaker (3) In a solid run of form. Up in grade but should handle the rise in class.
Cyclone Zion W (4) Trotter with huge ability. Probable winner if he finds the front in this

Race 5

Ruby’s A Delight (10) Trailing draw and goes well on grass. Seeking gaps but can go close
The Finisher (2) Has raced ok on grass against similar fields. Draw helps and one for odds
Flying Ashes (4) Getting fitter with racing and gear change. Look for a better showing here

Race 6

Boyz Invasion (13) Back on grass is a good chance. Big field but winning claims
Prince Ranier (7) Big improver who goes well on the track. One for longer odds here
The Royal Gamble (17) Good win here when last on the track. Tricky draw but needed

Race 7

Tanzania (12) This looks a drop in grade for him and he has won on the track. Include
Katherine (2) No luck last few starts and grass suits. Can place at longer odds.
Tempo Warrior (1) Good beginner who might race handy here. Top three chance here

Race 8

George Eliot (12) No grass stats but should give a good sight with luck in running. Include
Mavis Jones (6) Goes well on the track and good run last start. Top three claims here
Buffy Northstains (7) Running on last start and good beginner. Grass ok and place chance

Race 9

Pinseeker (9) Racing well against the top pacers. Unbeaten on grass and good chance here
Mossdale Ben (6) Decent motor and a chance from a better draw. Grass ok and has claims
Smoke On The Water (2) Ok run last start. Will continue to improve and place hope here

Race 10

Amazing Tom (4) Very tough and drawn to be handy all the way. Good winning chance
Wotsonyamind (10) Wide draw but better than most in this. Unknown on grass but needed
Ebury Street (13) Tricky draw but in form and grass suits. Could surprise with a good trip

Race 11

Bettor Be Sharp (11) Grass stats good and has won on the track. Can go close with luck
To Ri Ruby (5) Good form on track and drawn handy. One for longer odds here. Include
Milou (8) Winner of only grass start and has gate speed. Tricky draw but not the worst
