Harness racing hits Oamaru again today with twelve races on the card. The racing starts at 12:00pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Best Bet:  R3  Rock Or Bust

Best Value:  R4  Barrytown

Race 1

Bautista (5) Trialling like a winner and trainer has a good strike rate. Top selection
Heaven (4) Good stand start horse who has been freshened. Good top three chance here
Scarlet Madam (2) Battling away last start but an improver. Could surprise with manners

Race 2

Tinkerbelle (9) Quite a weak field and looks a good bet if she can step away quickly. Include
Mikko Koivu (12) Running on last start and could figure I he can work closer in the run.
Trippy Tyron (6) Improver from her last campaign and drawn to play a part. Place chance

Race 3

Rock Or Bust (4) Stable in good form and has been racing stronger fields. Top selection
Carrera Bravo (6) Freshened but will struggle to beat the favourite. Place claims in this
Sweet Raine (5) Gate speed and racing well in similar fields. Major player again here

Race 4

Barrytown (10) Goes well on the track and a winning chance with a good trip. Include
Speeding Spirit (2) Has early speed and likely leader. Could stick on with no attackers
Markthewarrior (14) Tricky draw but has a big finish. Will need a cart into the race.

Race 5

Better Be Quick (5) Stable does well on the track and the the motor is there. Good bet
Longview Tui (4) Has raced well against better fields. Freshened and needed here
Arafura (2) Stable respect and better draw. Look for a good run in this field. Include

Race 6

Captain Christian (8) Go on the first up second. Weaker field here and hard to beat
Rakamick (6) Only fair in his last campaign. Stronger now and one of the better chances
Chaldon (7) Trialling well and stable pops up when you least expect it. Would pay to include

Race 7

Judy J (5) Conditions suit and a good chance if she gets her own way in front. Can win
Major Cyclone (7) In good form and has a big motor. Getting fitter and can figure here
Practical Magic (10) Stable is good with trotters. Will stick on here but needs manners

Race 8

Wavewatcher (12) Previous form on the track was good. Upset claims in this with a cart up
Lilac Luxury (10) Can run time and could be a rough chance in this. One for longer odds
Auntie Deb (8) Wide draw but driver change and due to fire up. Can run top three here

Race 9

Paige (12) Battling away in better fields. Top selection and can give cheek with luck
Sheza Gift (9) Decent motor and a chance if her manners are kept in check. Include
MM Sunshine (2) Ok run last start. Will continue to improve and place hope again here

Race 10

Wild Willow (10) Fitter for the last start win. Harder here but looks capable of repeating
Life Of Art (11) Wide draw but better than most in this field. One for longer odds. Needed
Dreams Are Free (5) Big wraps on this one. Will need manners but will start favourite

Race 11

Katherine (9) Better than the form suggests. Tricky draw but could surprise with luck
Beaudiene Quick Step (3) Has been unlucky and drawn for a cozy run near the front.
Melody Banner (14) Tricky draw but has a big motor. One of the better chances in this

Race 12

Szybka Lane (11) Has been unlucky and best draw for some time. Top selection in this.
Fourth Amendment (6) Gets a draw near the front. Lacking form but good chance here
The Conqueror (8) Has gone some good races in better fields. Not the worst at longer odds
