The former world champion Warrawee Needy (1:46.8), who stands at Yirribee Pacing Stud, Wagga (NSW), has enjoyed unprecedented success with his babies in October.

Warrawee Needy

He has been represented by the two-year-old Rowdy Shannon, a double winner at Bathurst in 1:55.8 and 1:56.2, and two ‘new’ juvenile winners in She’s A Warrawee, a commanding winner by 25 metres in 1:58.7 on debut at Leeton, and Bondi Lass, a 1:55.6 Wagga victor.

Warrawee Needy’s three-year-old daughter Soap Opera ran third in the Group 1 NSW Breeders Challenge final in 1:50 lifting her stake tally to $154,998, while  recent three-year-old winners sired by him have been Jungle Beauty 1:56.1 (Bathurst) and Coolandcollect (West Wyalong). Other winners were Warrawee Cruzin, who scored at Bathurst and Young, Logan Reason (Parkes), Very Needy (Tamworth) and Miss Froufrou 1:57.7 (Redcliffe).

Warrawee Needy has left the winners of more than $3 million at an average of $25,000 per starter in Australia.

Brilliant, young sire Cattlewash, a studmate of Warrawee Needy at Yirribee, continues to build on his impressive two-year-old stats in North America.

Important recent winners sired by Cattlewash include McCusker, who took out the $40,000 Massachusetts Breeders Stake in 1:54, Floor It Freddie, winner of a leg of the New Jersey Sire Stakes 1:56.2, and Manolete, who won a division of the Kindergarten Series raising his earnings to over $150,000 with Tom Horn (by Cattlewash) second in 1:52.2.

The Cattlewash youngsters Master Ofthe House and Wash N Wax both broke maiden ranks recently, the former in 1:54 at Harrah’s Philadelphia and the latter in 1:57.8 at Fraser Downs, Canada.

Cattlewash now has 19 winners from 27 starters, an amazing 70 percent of his two-year-old crop. They have amassed $US930,000 in earnings.
