Bailey wins four at Vernon

Leading harness racing driver Leon Bailey drove four winners on the card including the $8,500 featured Open Trot with Woodside Gabe (Dover Dan) at Vernon Downs on Friday (Nov 01).

In the feature Sevenshotsobourbon (Tom Merton) was first to the quarter in :28.3.  He used a :30.1 second quarter to be first to the half in :58.4.  Woodside Gabe ($4.50) made a three-wide move heading around the final turn.  Sevenshotsobourbon led to three-quarters in 1:27.4.

As they reached the stretch Woodside Gabe took control and held off a late charge by second place finisher Free Willy Hanover (Chris Long) to win in 1:57.0.  Discus Hanover (Ron Harp) finished third.

Woodside Gabe is a 4-year-old gelding.  Amanda Bailey trains for owners David Faile and Joe Facin Jr.  It was his sixth win this season and his 12th career victory.
