Harness racing hits Oamaru again today with eight races on the card. The racing starts at 3:02pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good afternoon of racing.

Race 1

One Mhor For Heather (1) Has not had a lot of luck and drawn well. Could surprise here
Major Doosie (3) Smaller field will help and obvious ability. Will need to step but can win
See No Evil (6) Stable respect and only need better manners to be a threat. Has to be included

Race 2

Ari On Safari (3) Trialing ok and was handy enough last campaign. Looks a good bet. Needed
Seaside Pond (1) Well drawn and has the speed to be one of the better chances. Include here
Rockcent (5) Improver from last campaign and has good manners. Top three chance at odds

Race 3

Gati (4) Stable in good form and has top driver booked. Likely leader with a top three chance
Sweet Raine (5) Has been good when she races handy to the speed. Should give a sight here
Mind Philly (3) Freshened and not the worst if she can get a soft run. Can sneak into top three

Race 4

Premium Player (3) Solid Kaikoura second in a small field. Normally steps well and needed here
Miles Away (1) Manners the key with him. Has speed and could surprise with a trailing run.
Torquay Street (5) Raced a top field last start and this is easier. Win chance back in this grade

Race 5

Wavewatcher (4) Racing similar fields without luck and goes well the track. Top three claims here
The Bettor Major (2) Has been racing well against similar fields. Nice draw and looks a chance
Dare Devil (8) Wide draw but big on ability. Look for a good run in this field with a cart into it

Race 6

Prince Ranier (1) Better last start and drawn well. Course stats not great but an each way chance
Markthewarrior (6) Big on ability but slow starter. Even field but winning claims with manners
Regal Sierra (9) Nice win last start and placed on the track before. Top three chance at good odds

Race 7

Deceptive Lee (4) Can run time and big drop in class for this. One of the better chances. Needed
Hazer (2) Will get a cosy run on the pegs. Top driver booked and one for longer odds. Include
Itoje (8) Disappointing last start but looked a run short. Has the ability and could go close in this

Race 8

Dancing Desire (4) Can run time and due to get some form back after acing better fields. Go again
Classie Linc (2) Gate speed early will help and should go close to placing if she can find the front
Feta Go Fernco (1) In good form and should get a good run on the fence. Top three chance again
