$37.1 million yearling portion of Harrisburg sale concludes

Harrisburg, PA — The yearling portion of the Standardbred Horse Sale concluded Wednesday at the Pennsylvania State Farm Show Complex, where harness racing trotting filly Shes On The Money (E L Titan) sold for $95,000 to George Ducharme to lead the day’s activities.

Shes On The Money, a daughter of E L Titan-Queen Of More, is a half-sister to stakes winner With Out A Doubt. The family also includes stakes winners Maud Blue Chip and Whatever It Takes. The filly was consigned by Preferred Equine Marketing and bred by Ross Bonafield. She is New York and Massachusetts eligible.

Overall, the three-day sale saw 866 yearlings pass through the auction ring for a total just shy of $37.1 million and average of $42,830. Last year, the sale grossed $35.8 million for 810 yearlings, an average of $44,284.

Two trotting sires topped six figures in average. Walner led the way with 16 yearlings going for an average of $258,063 while Chapter Seven had 25 yearlings sell for an average of $128,800. Trotters overall averaged $51,454 for 392 horses. Fillies averaged $58,505 for 184 horses and colts averaged $45,216 for 208 horses.

Captaintreacherous led pacing sires, with 39 yearlings selling for an average of $98,513. Pacers overall averaged $35,698 for 474 horses. Colts averaged $36,004 for 265 horses and fillies averaged $35,311 for 209 horses.

The Standardbred Horse Sale’s two-day mixed sale gets underway Thursday and continues Friday. Both sessions begin at 11 a.m. (EST).
