Harness racing driver Kelly Hoerdt dominated the Saturday (Nov. 23) card at a frosty Century Mile with five wins on the nine-race slate.
He kicked off the evening with a natural triple. Baby Limbo (Captain Crunch) ignited down the lane to capture the first in 2:00.3, Born A Spy (Smart Shark, 2:00.2) snagged the second, and Rum N Custard (Custard The Dragon, 1:57.2) charged off cover for a half-length win in the third.
Hoerdt engineered the nightly highlight in the seventh as he rallied Believe It Sea It (Downbytheseaside) from 16 lengths back to win.
The gelding trailed a strung-out field from the first turn to the final turn, beginning his charge at the top of the lane. He closed rapidly in the final eighth of a mile and rolled past all rivals to upset at 7-1 by two lengths in 1:57.

Redstone Arsenal (Huntsville) then braved an overland trip in the finale to complete Hoerdtās haul of five. The gelding was out the whole way, grappling with leader Outlaw Gunsablazin (Jamie Gray) before leaving him behind in the stretch en route to a three-and-a-quarter-length score in 1:57.2.
Hoerdt is winning at a 17.3 per cent rate this season and is approaching $1 million in yearly earnings. The driver, who debuted in 1986, recently attained his 3,000th driving win.
Century Mile will host its next card on Friday, Nov. 29.
