Josh Power (5m Offshore Dream-Balginette-Hasting) vaulted to the lead mid-stretch and won the Gr. II International Prix du Bourbonnais (purse 120,000€, 2850 meters, 18 starters) at Paris-Vincennes with Eric Raffin driving the Sebastien Ernault harness racing trainee.
Ecurie BG Trot owns the winner that J.P. Mary bred. Off at 6.8/1 odds the now five time winner in 44 starts was timed in 1.11.5kr to advance his career earnings to 708,970€. He earned an Amerique ticket as did Emeraude de Bais, Hokkaido Jiel and Fakir de Mahey. The Bretagne invitees did not fare well today albeit San Moteur did not start – Hussard du Landret was 12th, Hooker Berry ended ninth and Just Love You was 10th.
Finishing second today was 37/1 odds Emeraude de Bais (10f Repeat Love-Haute Tension) with P-Y Verva driving for Herve Carlus and trainer Benjamin Goetz. 15/1 Hokkaido Jiel (7m Brillantissime-Victory Jiel) took third for driver David Thomain and trainer J.L. Dersoir for Ecurie Luck. Fakir de Mahey (9m Reve de Beylev-Mahey Storm) was fourth for trainer/driver Mathieu Mottier at 99/1 odds. Don Fanucci Zet (8m Hard Livin, Gu d’Heripre (8m Coktail Jet) and Oracle Tile (8m Ready Cash) completed the top seven to the line.

Of note, the winning dam Balginette is also the dam of Go On Boy (8m Password) a winner of 1,674,870€. The winning trainer today, Sebastien Ernault, piloted Oyonnax to victory in the 2020 Amerique timed in 1.12.4kr. He defeated Quaker Jet and Meaulnes du Corta. Quaker Jet was driven by Pierre Vercruysse that day for Jean Etienne Dubois, and he drove Oyonnax to a second place finish in the 2009 Bourbonnais.
Vercruysse did the TV broadcast commentary today. Pierre Levesque drove and trained Meaulnes du Corta that day and he subsequently won the Amerique with Offshore Dream twice and then with Meaulnes.
