On Saturday, December 7, the SOA of NY held their Board of Trustees and Directors meetings.
At the Trustees meeting Neuberger Berman, our financial investment company provided an update on our investments. In addition, the Trustees discussed our strong financial position and provided an update to our Welfare Plans (medical and dental).
At the Board of Directors meeting, the Directors discussed the Election results (see below), the strong SOA of NY finances, purse account, 240 race dates in 2025, contract negotiations with MGM will begin early next year, new track safety system should be installed by MGM for opening night, Monday, January 20, HISA developments, current issues regarding racing in New York State, increased social media presence and Empire City bets promotions.
The following, all incumbent Directors, were re-elected for 2025 without opposition:

A motion by Peter Younger to nominate Scott Didomenico for the vacant Driver/Trainer category was seconded by Tom Ceraso. After discussion, the motion passed.
