180,400€ triumph by Ginostrabliggi in Italy

Philippe Allaire’s Ginostrabliggi (2m Muscle Hill-Gilly LB-Supergill-Rasia LB-Nevele Pride) was in victorious harness racing command in capturing the 180,400€ Gran Premio Allevatori Maschi Masaf at Milano San Siro in Italy on December 14.

Timed in 1.14.6kr over the 2100 meters autostart course this 1.22/1 odds favorite was reined by Gabriele Gelormini as he advanced his career earnings to 176,265€ from five wins. His dam, Gilly LB, has produced 10 winners from as many foals including 1,025,265€ winning Callmethebreeze, Palomar LB 244,143€ and Beautiful Colibiri 174,085€. Allaire owned, trained and developed Callmethebreeze before his sale to Australian interests.

Finishing second today was 4/1 Golden Boy (2m Maharajah-Sinead Prad-Love You) with Andrea Guzzinati aboard and 4/1 odds Gugliemo Jet (2m Maharajah-Negasaki Jet) was third for Santo Mollo, Ginger Gio and Galileo Ferm took checks four and five.

The Gran Premio Alevatori Feminine (purse 180,400€, 2100 meters autostart, two-year-old fillies) saw an impressive coast to coast victory by 1.9/1 odds Giovaz (2f Maharajah-Todinaz-Ganymede) timed in 1.16.0kr.  Antonio Di Nardo reined this Gannaro Casillo trainee that has three career wins and 171,596€ earned.

The 2.2/1 Goldie Home (2f Muscle Massive-Ain’t She Sweet-Voltigeur de Myrt) was second for David DiStefano and 2.2/1 Geiles Leben Home (2f Maharajah-Vanatta) took third money for driver Roberto Vecchione. Grace Breed was fourth ahead of Givconda Jet.

On the undercard the 3.85/1 odds Dylan Dog Font (5m Ringostarr Treb-Ola Bi-Pine Chip) won the Finale Coupa di Milano (Gr. III, purse 23,320€, 1600 meters autostart) timed in 1.11.6kr. Marco Stefani drove the Mauro Baroncini trainee.

The 18/1 Vaprio (10m Adrian Chip-Namibia-Cantab Hall) was second for Rene Legati with third earned by 39.3/1 Corallo Pisano (6m Louvre-La Titti BI0 with Andrea Farolfi up. The 2/1 odds favorite Catullo Jet 96m Maharajah-Perche’no Jet) was fourth followed by 10/1 Dalila Bar 95f Robert Bi-Filanda) with Santo Mollo at the lines.

There were two eliminations for the finale each with purse of 7,040€ and raced over the 1600 meters autostart course. The first batteria went to 2.3/1 Dylan Dog Font timed in 1.11.7kr with Marco Stefani up defeating Vapio and Catullo Jet, the latter owned by NBA basketball star Nikola Jokic.

The second batteria went to 2/1 odds Marion Fouty Bon (7f Mister JP-Dormensita-Repeat Love-Carmensita) timed in 1.12.1kr with Roberto Vecchione up for Holger Ehlert training for Jean Pierre Barjon. Vincero’ Gar (10m SJs Photo-Lady Killer Gar) was second and Dalila Bar (5f Robert Bi-Filanda) was home third.
