Harness racing hits Gore again today with 12 races on the card . The racing starts at 11:43am and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good afternoon of racing.

Race 1

Buffy Northstains (8) Can not fault recent form and should run top three again here. Top selection
Brianna (10) Should begin quickly and goes well on the southern circuit. One of the better chances
Tinkerbelle (7) Getting better with racing but manners the key. Win chance if she trots away quickly

Race 2

Airwaves (2) Running on well last start and has gate speed. Has to be included from the good draw
Robyns Hustler (1) Has been a bit unlucky and draw will suit. Might trail here and can run a place
Pounamu (10) Freshened and looked stronger at the trials. Top three chance here with luck in running

Race 3

Styrax (11) Drops in class here and should win if she steps to the front. Fingers crossed at the start
Storm Cloud (1) Freshened and a threat to the favourite with a good run in transit. Has to be included
Ah Dinnae Ken (8) Good effort last start and will be fitter. Can sneak into the top three again here

Race 4

Burnham Girl (6) Solid third last start after an early mistake and a winning chance from the draw.
Sweet DJ (3) Quick improver who will race well in a fresh condition. Should give a good account
Gati (4) Top driver booked and has gate speed. Could be the early leader and one for longer odds

Race 5

Mr President (5) Fought on late last start in a similar field. Needs the right trip but has winning claims
Durrant (6) Had excuses last start and well placed here. Good each way chance in this lineup. Needed
Its Electrifying (1) Will be fitter after last start. Trailing draw and should get a soft trip. Include in this

Race 6

Trojan Princess (7) Freshened and showed speed last prep. Win chance at longer odds if fully fit.
Vanessa Marie (8) Draw hurts but has the speed to make her own luck. Has to be included here
Jenny Gump (5) Drawn ok and has gate speed to lead early. Driver change and could surprise in this

Race 7

Built For Glory (8) Draw hurts but has raced better fields. Looks a big chance and hard to beat
Miraculous (7) Nice effort in a strong field last start. Wide draw but can threaten the favourite
Franco Sailor (4) Hard to see him beating the two favourites but he can run top four with a good trip

Race 8

Andy Hall (6) Freshened and top driver booked. Won this race last year in a weaker field. Go again
Rata (9) Tricky handicap and galloped last start but should go close to placing in this with manners
Jimmy Carter (10) Out of form but at his best would be a good chance. Will have to step quickly

Race 9

Zoom X (3) Good form and Canterbury horses do well on the Otago new year circuit. Good chance
Shergar (12) Decent motor and and top driver booked. Good chance based on recent trial runs. Include
Adamas (4) Has trialed ok and big stable respect on debut. Should give a good sight from the draw

Race 10

Pinseeker (10) Has raced better fields. At his best would go close here and hard to beat. Top selection
Itoje (4) Has a decent reputation and drawn handy. Good win last start but tougher here. Place chance
Deny Everything (3) Drawn well and normally races well in the Country Cups. Could surprise at odds

Race 11

Torquay Street (1) Draw suits and has placed on the track. Can go close here with a quick beginning
Switch On (2) Freshened and drawn for a soft run. Needs to trot all the way but winning claims in this
Petite Trixton (4) Freshened and good form at her last campaign. One of the better chances here

Race 12

Bobbies Rock (4) Has been unlucky on occasions and gate speed to lead. Should go close in this field
Ellie Franco (1) Better than the form suggests. Nice draw here and trainer does well on the circuit
Magnetic Beckers (9) Should get a soft pegs run in transit. Will need gaps but not the worst in this
