Alta Revelry N (Sunshine Beach) charged home to win the Open Handicap Pace at Bally’s Dover on Thursday night.
Early action was provided by Sprocket and the ½ betting favorite Alta Revelry N as both pacers traded blows approaching the quarter pole. Sprocket wrestled the lead away from Alta Revelry N, who retreated to the pocket.
Sprocket flashed past the opening quarter in 27.2. The field remained in single file. Sprocket rocketed past the half in 56. (28.3) Art Scaping tentatively moved to the outside, pacing down the backstretch 1st over. ATS Hanover made an untimely break down the backstretch which hindered the outside flow. Sprocket was asked for more by driver Pat Berry passing the three quarters in 1:23.2 (27.2)
Alta Revelry N became anxious and pulled the pocket confidently passing the pace setter Sprocket approaching the top of the stretch. Alta Revelry N won by a length in 1:51.1 and paid an even $3 for the victory.
