Your best odds to win big in 2025

For many investors who bid at yearling sales, buying a yearling is seen as purchasing a ticket in a lottery. While this comparison holds some truth, it only scratches the surface of what’s involved in selecting a potential harness racing champion.

Despite evaluating pedigree and inspecting for conformation, several critical factors remain a mystery, like the size of the horse’s heart and lungs or the all-important competitive spirit, none of which are evident in the sales ring.

In a sense, purchasing a yearling like Leap To Fame, Catch A Wave, Swayzee, or Don Hugo was like buying a winning lottery ticket. These APG graduates have collectively amassed nearly $7 million in earnings. Similarly, two of North America’s greatest pacers of the century, Somebeachsomewhere and Bulldog Hanover, were relatively inexpensive buys at just $68,000 combined. Yet, they went on to build legendary careers, earning a combined $5.63 million between them for their connections.

So, while buying a yearling has the potential to make the dream of owning a champion a reality, the joy of ownership isn’t limited to the “home run” horse. The thrill of racing, combined with the generous incentives tied to yearling sales, offers plenty of excitement even without finding the next superstar.

The 2025 APG Yearling Sales in Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland present provide the best “Ticket in a Lottery” you will ever find anywhere.

With each of these 3 sales there will be an exclusive $100,000 Pacers Race for both Colts and Fillies in their 2-year-old season, as well as a backup $50,000 Race for each sex as 3-year-olds.
