Busting With Pride (Resolve) made his first local start of the harness racing season at Saratoga Casino Hotel on Monday afternoon.

The Jackie Greene-trained trotter was fresh off a lifetime-best 1:53.4 victory at the Meadowlands when he drew post position five in the $15,000 Open Trot on Monday. Brett Beckwith, who guided Busting With Pride to his score in New Jersey, once again sat behind the five year old gelding who was tasked with coming first-over in the feature.
The Greene trainee proved up to the task and wore down Deadline Hall (Aaron Byron) who was carving out the fractions in the feature. Busting With Pride asserted himself in the stretch and trotted to a 1:57.4 victory over a track labeled ‘good.’
By The Book (Jay Randall) was a beaten favorite for the fourth consecutive week but was a seasonal best second-place finisher in the Open while Deadline Hall held on to be third.
Busting With Pride paid $7.40 to win in what was his second victory in three tries on the season. He is owned by Kellogg Racing Stables and Jackie Greene Stables of New York. Brett Beckwith piloted six winners on the Monday card to continue what has been an incredible start to his 2025 season at the Spa.
