Following up on a successful season’s harness racing debut in the New Holland Trotting Series opener a week ago, Fashion Frenzie dominated the $30,000 second leg on Monday, March 17 at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

Louis-Philippe Roy drove the seven-year-old Archangel-Striking Fashion gelding for trainer Jeff Gillis and Quebec owners Ecurie Francis Richard Inc., Gestion Mario Bourgea Inc., Pierre Guillemette and Sylvain Richard.
There was never an anxious moment for Fashion Frenzie as the two-time O’Brien Award winner led a short field of five in post position order with one starting gate breaker through fractions of :28.2, :58 and 1:27 en route to a 1:55.1 victory. New Rules (Trevor Henry) followed 1-1/4 lengths behind with Locatelli (Phil Hudon) making late gains in third.
A career winner of 29 races and more than $1.32 million, Fashion Frenzie paid $2.60 to win as the overwhelming 1-5 favourite.
Now perfect in a pair of New Holland preliminary legs, Fashion Frenzie will take aim at a series sweep in the $60,000 added trotting final on Saturday, March 29 at Mohawk.
