Elegant A wins coast to coast in $25,000 Mares Open

Elegant A (Somebeachsomewhere) utilized her quick gait speed and forced Incaseyoudidntknow and Ludacrous A to take seats early.

Elegant A rolled to the opening quarter in 27.1.  The field of top distaff pacing mares remained single file allowing Elegant A to set her own race fractions. She reached the half in 55.2 a 28.1 quarter.  Incaseyoudidntknow, the 6/5 betting favorite, became eager and started her journey 1st over down the backstretch from fourth..  Phoenix Rising, the Rosecroft Raceway harness racing invader, caught the 2nd over cover. Ludacrous A, normally a grinder, was content to sit in the pocket.

Elegant A enjoyed an uncontested lead and reached the three quarters in 1:23.4, a 28.2 quarter.

Turning for home Incaseyoudidntknow mounted a late charge.  Ludacrous A had every opportunity to close along the pylons but failed.  Elegant A showed her class and won by a length and a quarter in 1:52.3.  She paid an even $10 for the win.

Elegant A ( Somebeachsomewhere)  is owned by Pollack Racing LLC.  Jeff Cullipher trained and Tim Tetrick drove. Incaseyoudidntknow finished 2nd and Ludacrous A was 3rd.

ELEGANT A REPLAY

Earlier in the betting card, Tilted Crown and Bella Artiste won their divisions of the Bally’s Dover Late Closer for Three Year Old Pacing Fillies.

Thursday’s feature race is the $27,500 Blue Hen/ Open Handicap Pace.  Itsrockandroll A looks for a repeat victory.  Wehadababyitzaboy hopes to deliver a win.

Carry over mania continues Thursday with a Pick 4 carry over worth $2,606 beginning on the 2nd race.  Also a $2,077 Pick 5 carryover starts on the 6th race.
