Tasmania’s most improved pacer Triedtotellya (Well Said) scored his most important harness racing win to date when he scored an effortless win in the Group 3 $75,000 Easter Cup at Launceston on Saturday night.

In doing so he became the shortest priced favourite to take out the time honoured event as Eureka Jo was the only other runner under double figure odds.
All eyes were on the standing start, but punters never had any cause for concern as Triedtotellya stepped cleanly and went straight to the front over the testing 2698 metre trip.
TRIEDTOTELLYA APR 19 REPLAY
Driver Rohan Hillier kept the pace going all the way and the only serious move from the backmarkers was when Gareth Rattray on Star Major made a run to sit outside the leader.
But the effort told on Star Major and he could not keep going. It was left to Eureka Jo and Hot Deal to chase the leader home but Triedtotellya proved too strong at the finish and he won by over 8 metres.
From the stand Triedtotellya’s mile rate of 1.59 was outside the track record set by Where’s The Gold two years ago. Nonetheless the impressive way that Triedtotellya disposed of his rival indicates that he will win better races and it would seem that an interstate trip beckons.
The striking black gelding has been lightly raced with ten wins from just 15 appearances mainly due to having a number of injuries.
Triedtotellya is unbeaten in three appearances this year and he gained attention when in March he set a new track record of 1.53.7 for the 1680 metres. He continued his form when he scored a decisive win in his Easter Cup heat win.
