Abull (Raging Bull) provided veteran Ascot Park trainer Owen Lawrence and his daughter Carol Graham with their fifth harness racing training win at Winton today.

Driver Rory McIIwrick took the six year old straight to the top from a handy draw and from there he stayed in front going on to win by five and a quarter lengths, running the 2400 metres in 2-59.3.

“I got him off David Gregory. He had a lot of young ones and thought that someone else could have a go with this one because he’s been doing a bit of galloping. Rory and I have been doing a bit of work with him. It looks like we’ve got him right. Rory is really good at equine manipulation and that sort of stuff and has been a big help to me, because Dad isn’t getting any younger,” Graham said.

Abull who was bred by Michelle Caig is out of Chloe Finn, a Grinfromeartoear daughter of Chloe Hanover who won eleven races including a Northern Breeders Stakes, Hannon Memorial and Methven Cup.

“He seems to have a bit of ability, we’re happy with his breeding and he was worth having a go with. He’d been working well this week so we thought it might be our day.”
