Star filly Quatro Moth (Rock N Roll Heaven) led for most of the way for a narrow but convincing harness racing win In the Group 3 $50,000 Franz Fitzpatrick Cheryl McDowell Pink Bonnet mile at Menangle Park on Saturday night.

Punters were only interested in Quatro Moth who had won her only previous start at Melton where she had led all the way and were expecting her to do the same in the Pink Bonnet.
Quatro Moth commenced quickly but was made to work by the Northern filly Fake Friends and the field ran a blistering 26.9 seconds for the first quarter. Driver Mark Pitt was able to take a breather on Quatro Moth with the second quarter in 30.1 seconds. Second favourite Conciliate had a torrid run outside the leader while Riverina filly Capture Our Heart had a one out and two back trail.
Quatro Moth moved away on the final bend and appeared to have a winning break but she started to shorten stride and both Conciliate and Capture Our Heart especially started to sprout wings. In particular Capture Our Heart was accelerating quickly but near the line Quatro Moth found a little bit extra and she won by a head from Capture Our Heart with Conciliate third.
QUATRO MOTH MAY 10 REPLAY
An eye catching run was turned in by rank outsider Kellys Colours who come from last to finish fifth.
Driver Mark Pitt was satisfied after the event.
“She’s a still very green filly. She’s got plenty of ability this one and when she works out to be a race horse she will be better again.”
“We had to go with her a bit early in her career just to get her around safe and well.”
“I’m sure she’ll come back better after she freshens up.”
Quatro Moth is raced by Maryborough breeders Len and Irene Parker who have had great success with her dam Flying Moth.

Capture Our Heart was superb coming in a close second and she will feature in the forthcoming two year old classics as she possesses a brilliant turn of speed.
First run in 1978 when won by Copper Satin driven by Brian Gath the Pink Bonnet has been highly prized by connections of two year old fillies looking to enhance their breeding potential by winning the coveted classic.
