Downers Delight notches 9th win of the season

HARRINGTON, DE – Tlb Racing’s Downers Delight ($3.80, Pat Berry) notched his 9th win of the season with a 1:52.4 win in the $17,000 Delaware Special Monday at Harrington Raceway.

The 7-year-old Bettor’s Delight gelding was positioned second-over behind a game Itsrockandroll A, who pressured pacesetter Master Rigger to three-quarters in 1:24.3. Downers Delight fanned three wide in the stretch and zoomed by for his 22nd career win for trainer Traci Berry. Itsrockandroll A was second with Master Rigger third. Downers Delight has already banked nearly $115,000 this year. It was part of a driving triple for Berry.

DOWNERS DELIGHT REPLAY

Carlo Poliseno and Todd Burger’s Double Metal ($13.60, Cody Poliseno) was a 1:52.1 winner in the $14,500 Winners-Over sub-feature for pacers. Joining Poliseno with a driving double was Barton Dalious and Montrell Teague.

The 7-year-old Betting Line gelding took advantage of a second-over journey and surged to the front at the wire over Steven’s Saloon and Effingham for his 4th win of the year and second straight trip to the winner’s circle for trainer Carlo Poliseno. Team Poliseno also scored a win with 11-year-old Proper Respect gelding, Proper One ($20.60) for his 52nd career win.
