Oamaru horseman Matty Williamson thinks his quality trotting filly Princess Sadie (Muscle Mass) is ready for a forward showing at the Forbury Park TC meeting at Wyndham on Thursday.
“She’s got a bit stronger to look at so we’re hoping that’ll portray on the track. She’s definitely a lot heavier and a bigger horse,” Williamson said.
Last season as a three year old Princess Sadie raced against the best of her age group winning the Southern Oaks and running second in both the Harness Million Three Year Old Trotting Fillies Final and the New Zealand Trotting Oaks.

The now four year old has been to two trials and in her last trial beat Love N The Port and Empire City.
“She’s gone well in her two runs and hopefully they’ll have her forward enough to be hard to beat.”
And Williamson added that Princess Sadie has a good fresh up record.
“Her fresh up record is really good. She won her very first start, then she won her first start last time in and was second first up in the North Island.”
On Thursday she starts in the Diamond Creek/SBSR Silk Road Trotters Series and it’ll be the first time she’s started from a stand.
“I’m not worried about that. Hopefully we get a nice wee walk forward. She’s pretty sensible so hopefully she gets away alright. She’s been a good beginner at the trials and she’s sensible round home so I’d like to think she’ll behave herself.”
Safely through Thursday’s race Princess Sadie will head to the $30,000 Silk Road Final at Winton in a weeks time.
“After that we’ll just have to pick a path around Canterbury and go where the nice stakes money is for her grade, then on to Cup Week later on.”
