Meadows Monday Memo

REGULAR SCHEDULE THIS WEEK, CHANGES COMING

Hollywood Casino at The Meadows will race its regular schedule this week, with harness racing action Wednesday and Thursday at 12:45pm, Friday evening at 5:10pm and Saturday at 12:45pm. Next week, there will be no live racing on Saturday, August 16 due to the annual Corks & Kegs Festival. There will be no racing August 22-23, as a country music festival will be taking place.  Due to those events, a card has been added on Tuesday, August 19.  With the full live card that day, there will not be qualifiers the morning of the 19th.  Also, please note that the PA Sire Stake and PA Stallion Series events for 2YO C/G Pacers which was originally scheduled for Friday, August 22 has been moved to Thursday, August 21.

PALONE, WRENN CONTINUE TO BATTLE

Drivers Dave Palone and Ronnie Wrenn Jr continue to battle at the top of the standings at The Meadows.  Palone now holds an 11-win lead, 256-245, as we move into August.  Aaron Merriman (161), Mike Wilder (86) and Jeremy Indof (77) complete the top five.

SOPHOMORE COLTS, FILLIES IN ACTION SATURDAY

Saturday’s card will feature three-year-old trotters in Pennsylvania Sire Stake and PA Stallion Series action, as they try to earn valuable points toward the end of the season championships in both series.  The box will close Wednesday morning for entries and the draw will be revealed on Wednesday afternoon.  Both colt and filly divisions will be taking place, so stake races will likely dominate the Saturday card.  Post time is 12:45pm.
