Phil, Nathan, Matty and Brad Williamson collectively have 20 runners booked for the Southern Surge meeting at Ascot Park on Sunday – Matthew and Brad with seven runners each, Nathan with four and Phil with two.

Of the 22 runners they took to last Sunday’s Southern Surge meeting at Winton, they recorded two wins, five seconds and two thirds.

Here are each of the trainers thoughts on their runners for Sunday’s IHRC meeting.

Race One:

Majic N The Port (5) – Matthew Williamson

“Really happy with her run the other day and it was good to see good manners from her. If she brings her manners again, she’s a top three chance.”

What ‘s The Whisper (10) – Phil Williamson

“He went a good race at Winton but it depends on the run he gets because it’s a big field. But I think he’s an each way chance.”

Race Two:

Mack Pack (7) – Matthew Williamson

“I was really happy with his run the other day and if he can get across them he’s a top three chance.”

Race Three:

Sargent Best (1) – Matthew Williamson

“He went terrible the other day so I’ve made a couple of gear changes and changed his work around. He’s good enough if the right version turns up.”

Rise Up N Dance (5) – Nathan Williamson

“Drops into a winnable grade, has drawn well and should be hard to beat.”

Race Four:

He’s No Romeo (4) – Matthew Williamson

“It’s a good draw for him. He’s been due a nice draw and I expect him to be hard to beat. He’s our best bet.”

She’s Crunchy (12) – Nathan Williamson

“Talented filly but awful draw so will probably need a bit of luck.”

Race Five:

Mixed Faith (2) – Brad Williamson

“She was hitting the line very strongly at her last start. I think she’s a top four chance again.”

Black Pat (3) – Nathan Williamson

“Good manners and the short distance should suit. Should be top three.”

Dominations Call (20 metres) – Brad Williamson

“Disappointing at his last start. I’ve changed his work around a bit but he needs to improve.”

Race Six:

Flying Bird (1) – Matthew Williamson

“She’s been waiting on a good draw for a long time. She was disappointing at her last start and she’s another one that I’ve changed her work around. Good enough in that field if the right version turned up.”

Aint No Angel (6) – Brad Williamson

“Very unlucky not to have run in the money at her last start. She’s an each way chance.”

Race Seven:

Mighty Miki (14) – Matthew Williamson

“The draw probably kills him. He has been racing well so just an outside top three chance from the draw.”

Race Eight:

Muscle Mist (5) – Brad Williamson

“She’s a top four chance again. She’s racing well but there’s probably a couple in there that are better than her.”

Penelope Lane (7) – Brad Williamson

“Disappointing in her last couple of starts. She needs to bring her manners to figure.”

Have A Little Faith (9) – Phil Williamson

“It’s a cruel draw one on the second row. It’s the only draw we didn’t want. Nathan’s on her, she’s a good beginner and despite the draw is still a good chance.”

To The Moon A Back (11) – Brad Williamson

“He’s the best chance out of our three. If he brings his manners, he’s an each way chance.”

Race Nine:

Mr Cash Man (3) – Matthew Williamson

“Good field. I thought he went a really good race the other day. It’ll come down to the trip he gets. He’s good enough to compete with these horses. He’s a top four chance without over playing his chances.”

Tabasco (8) – Brad Williamson

“He’s racing well, has been competitive in this series and he’s an each way chance. Nat’s horse (Always Dreaming) will be hard to beat.”

Always Dreaming (9) – Nathan Williamson

“First up and will improve with the run.”
