LOUPRINT TO QUALIFY TUESDAY

North America Cup winner Louprint (Sweet Lou) will return to harness racing action tomorrow (Tuesday, August 12) at The Meadows in a qualifying race.  Ronnie Wrenn Jr is expected to drive for trainer Ron Burke in the third qualifying race, leaving from post 6.  Louprint is 5-for-5 this season with earnings of $449,132, but has been off since early July after a non-racing injury resulted in surgery.  Also in the same qualifying race is the 3-year-old pacing filly Rose, who set a track record at The Meadows last year for freshman fillies, but has been limited to just five starts so far in 2025.  Rose is also trained by Ron Burke.

WATCH QUALIFIERS LIVE

Tuesday’s qualifiers will be shown live on Race Track Network’s online platform, with the first race at 10:30am Eastern.  The qualifiers can also be seen on the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association’s Facebook page, and are archived at youtube.com/themsoa.

NO LIVE RACING THIS SATURDAY

Hollywood Casino at The Meadows will race Wednesday and Thursday at 12:45pm, and Friday evening at 5:10pm this week.  There will be no live racing this Saturday, August 16 due to the annual Corks & Kegs Festival. There will be no live racing August 22-23, as a country music festival will be taking place.  Due to those events, a card has been added on Tuesday, August 19.  With the full live card that day, there will not be qualifiers the morning of the 19th.  Also, please note that the PA Sire Stake and PA Stallion Series events for 2YO C/G Pacers which was originally scheduled for Friday, August 22 has been moved to Thursday, August 21.

TRAINER STATS

Ron Burke continues to lead the trainer standings at The Meadows when it comes to wins, with 150, while Brandon Presto (75) and Justin Pirillo (71) complete the top-3.  Pirillo has 71 wins from just 189 starts, and has the top winning percentage (37.6) and Universal Trainer Rating (.484) among local trainers.  For those with fewer starts, Brian Brown has 16 wins in just 34 starts this season (47.1%) and a UTRS of .575.

If you would like additional information at any point, please reach out to track announcer Jeff Zidek (jeff.zidek@pennentertainment.com).
