Just days to go in the free Copy That! and Alabar stallion services raffle in Australia, New Zealand 

The Western Australian Standardbred Breeders Association (WASBA) are running their fourteenth stallion service Raffle offering top of the range stallions for breeders across Australia and New Zealand. The Raffle offers breeders a fantastic opportunity to get a free breeding (service fee only) for the 2025/26 season. However, the raffle must close midnight Wednedsay 20 August 2025.

The first two services (First and Second prize) provide breeders with their choice of any of the world class stallion standing on behalf of Alabar in the 2025/26 breeding season. 

The roster is led by the magnificent Art Major USA, one of the world’s best sires of all time, Alabar’s newest stallion Legendary Hanover USA (Canada’s 2YO Pacing Colt of the Year and Meadowlands Pace and Cane Pace winner at 3), Captain Crunch USA (2018 US 2YO Pacing Colt of the Year and leading Australian based pacing 2YO sire in 2025), Rock N Roll Heaven USA (World Champion and US 3YO Pacing Colt of the Year, sire of winners of over $105 million worldwide), Pebble Beach USA (2022 US and Canadian 3YO Pacing Colt of the Year), and Australian bred champions Vincent (Auckland Cup and multiple Derby winner, retired fastest 3yo in Australia), Ride High (Breeders Crown winner with 16 wins from 18 starts, leading Australian first season pacing sire in 2025) and The Storm Inside (Australian 2YO Pacing Colt of the Year, undefeated at 2 and 3).

Included also are two champion trotting stallions in Majestic Son CA (nine times leading Australian sire) and Tactical Approach USA (Hambletonian winner and 2023 US 3YO Trotting Colt of the Year) as well as Elite Stride (Australian 3YO Trotting Colt of the Year and leading Australian first season trotting sire in 2025).

Volstead USA, who is standing on behalf of a partnership, is NOT included.

The raffle is limited to 300 tickets at $100 each, with the raffle closing midnight Wednesday 20th August 2025 and drawn on Friday 22nd August.

The phenomenal first and second prizes in the raffle are open to all breeders in Australia and New Zealand, but if you pay WASBA’s 2025/26 membership by close of raffle on 20 August ($20 Single, $30 Family) that early bird payment will make you eligible for a free service to an exciting new stallion to stand for the first time this year – New Zealand champion Copy That  NZ (American Ideal USA) . The winner of 7 Group 1 races – including two New Zealand Cups and the inaugural $1 million Race by Grins – will stand in WA at Murray Vets. Two $1,000 service fee voucher draws (with the 3 draws taking place immediately after the raffle draw) are also included for members, to use at one of the studs sponsoring WASBA this season, including Alabar Farms, Allwood Stud, Decron Horse Care, Murray Vets, Westbred Pacing and Woodlands Stud, with more to be added in the coming weeks.
