Call to Order gets his Eureka campaign on track again

Racing Queensland’s Eureka entrant Call To Order (American Ideal) answered his critics when he scored a strong harness racing win in the Racing and Sports Qualifying Pace at Albion Park on Saturday evening.

Through virtue of his controversial win in the Hayden in June, Call To Order gained automatic entry in the Eureka but in his three next starts he failed to impress and there was conjecture that he would not be up to the quality of the Eureka.

However last night he was confidently backed into a hot favourite and was three wide early as Watchmedazzle held the lead from the pole draw. Trista Dixon on Call To Order allowed the four year old gelding to stride up alongside Watchmedazzle.

In the final lap Call To Order quickly put paid to his rivals when he dashed away and it was clear on straightening that nothing would be able to issue a challenge. At the finish Call To Order had just under ten metres to spare from Hello I Tea with Prince Of Pain in third placing.

In winning Call To Order in 27.7 and 27.3 seconds for an overall mile rate of 1.54.

Whilst the field was notably weaker than what Call To Order will face in the Eureka the win was a much needed boost to the Racing Queensland slot holders and they will give him a chance when he tackles the $2.1 Eureka at Menangle on September 6.

The win was a perfect tonic for Trista Dixon who was celebrating her birthday. Call To Order will give owner Kevin Seymour a second string to the race as he also owns highly talented three year Fate Awaits.

In the opening event Former West Australian Rocket City (Huntsville) showed his rivals a clean pair of heels when he led all the way for a comprehensive win in the Multi 5 Band Pace.

Starting from barrier 3, Rocket City simply burned out of the mobile to clearly lead his rivals. Hot favourite Major Hot had no answer to Rocket City’s early speed and he settled behind the leader with Darin caught wide and racing outside the leader.

But to the consternation of Major Hot’s supporters, he started to race roughly and blundered on several occasions.

Rocket City cleared away on straightening and he had just over eleven metres to spare over Darin with Major Hot racing roughly in third placing. A vet’s examination after the race on Major Hot showed no significant findings.
