CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The Saturday evening harness racing program at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park will showcase a top sophomore taking on aged company in the featured pace.

The 10-dash Saturday evening card gets underway at 6 P.M.

The feature in race 9 carries a $3,750 purse with a competitive field of seven. T H Boomtown comes into the event off a sharp win for driver David Dowling and trainer Ronald Matheson, who has the four-year-old by Captain Crunch for owners Don Ling and Wayne MacDougall. Gator Hanover draws post 4 with Adam Merner in the bike and looms as a major danger after winning his last outing.

Top-level three-year-old pacing colt Bentley takes a week away from stakes company and has post 3 in the field with Jason Hughes driving for trainer John Clarey. The son of Pang Shui has earned over $31,000 so far in 2025 with six wins from 10 seasonal starts. Also in the field are Navalny (To be driven by Brady Sweet), Spack Jarrow (Ryan Desroche), ABC (Ken Murphy) and JK Last Chance (Mike McGuigan).

The Post Time Picks side with TH Boomtown.
“T H Boomtown picked up the win for Dowling last week and almost won two starts back from post six but made a break at the top of the stretch, so if Dowling trips him out, they could double up.”

Earlier in the evening, the card’s race 5 Bevan Bros. Plumbing & Heating pace for $3,700 lines up a field of seven. Friar Voltaire (Brady Sweet) rides a pair of victories in his latest into post 4 for trainer Basil Hunter and is favoured ahead of Bettim Alive (Hughes) and Geishas Treasure (Desroche).

Wagering is available at the track and online through HPIBET.COM. Watch the livestream at Redshores.ca or on the Red Shores Youtube channel.
