$1.4 MILLION IN STAKE PURSES THIS SATURDAY
Hollywood Casino at The Meadows hosts one of its biggest days of the harness racing season this coming Saturday, September 6. Four $300,000 Pennsylvania Sire Stake Championships for three-year-olds will take place, along with four $50,000 consolation races. Post positions for all races will be drawn on Wednesday morning. Saturday culminates the week of racing which features action at 12:45pm on Wednesday and Thursday, 5:10pm on Friday, and 12:45pm on Saturday.
3YO COLT TROT CHAMPIONSHIP
The top-8 point-earners throughout the season in four preliminary legs have earned a shot at Saturday’s $300,000 colt trotting final. The Fix Is In, trained by Charlie Norris, and Hey Porter, out of the Tony Alagna barn, led the way with 100 points each. The Fix Is In had two wins and two third place finishes, while Hey Porter finished second in all four of his preliminary legs.
3YO FILLY TROT CHAMPIONSHIP
Hangover, out of the Ake Svanstedt Stable, posted two wins and two second place efforts in the four Sire Stake legs, topping the field with 120 points for Saturday’s final for trotting fillies. Local filly Payback Moni, trained by Steve Schoeffel, is second in points (80) with one preliminary victory, which took place at The Meadows back in May.
3YO FILLY PACE CHAMPIONSHIP
The $300,000 sophomore filly pace is led by the two horses that earned wins in divisions of the fourth preliminary leg, which took place just this past weekend at The Meadows. Rodeo Drive Deo, trained by Ron Burke, and Good As You, a Trent Stohler trainee, have 95 and 85 points, respectively.
3YO COLT PACE CHAMPIONSHIP
All eyes will be on the $300,000 colt pacing title matchup, which will feature several horses that have figured prominently in top races throughout North America this summer. North America Cup champ Louprint, trained by Ron Burke, leads the way with wins in all four of his preliminary Sire Stake legs, for a total of 140 points. Twisted Destiny, trained by Chris Ryder, winner of the Messenger Stakes, has 120 points, the second highest total. Railroad Station, another Burke Stable trainee, is third in points with 90, while Delvin Miller Adios Pace winner and Milstein champ Prince Hal Hanover is fourth with 85. Prince Hal Hanover, trained by Ian Moore, and Louprint won the two PASS divisions this past Saturday at The Meadows.
