The Captaintreacherous millionaire Catch The Fire (1:46.8), whose frozen semen is available to ‘down under’ breeders this season from Pete and Chantal McMullen’s Somerset Farms in Queensland, has made an impressive start to his siring career in North America.

Catch The Fire

Of his first crop of 50 foals, 44 have raced for an 88 percent strike rate. They have banked $1,408,572 to date for an average of $28,000 per foal.

Meanwhile, Catch The Fire’s second crop of 77 foals – now two year-olds – has produced 57 starters and a 75 percentage rate. They have amassed $893,665 in staekmoney.

Overall, Catch The Fire has sired the winners of $2,302,237 as at September 11. From 127 foals, 95 have raced and 52 are winners. He has 44 in the 2:00 list and 19 in 1:55.

Among his winners are the Ohio Breeders Championship winner Prolific Fire (1:53.6), the Ohio Sires Stakes champion She’safirewoman (1:51.8), My First Fire (1:53.4) and Pants On Fire (1:50).
