Huntress wins 3rd straight

HARRINGTON, DE –   Manklin Creek’s Huntress ($3, Allan Davis) won her 3rd straight race Tuesday at Harrington Raceway in 1:52.4 in the featured $18,000 Mares Open.

Huntress was sent for the lead immediately from post six and set fractions of 27.1, 56 and 1:24.1 with no serious pressure until late en route to her 8th harness racing win of the season for trainer Eric Ell. Jett Propelled closed late for second while Lofty Treasure was third. The 7-year-old Huntsville mare notched her 45th career win and pushed her seasonal earnings over $100,000 for the 2nd straight year. It was one of 4 wins on the card for Davis.

HUNTRESS REPLAY

Mike Casalino’s Lil Miss Wondrphyl ($2.40, Corey Callahan) won her 4th straight race in 1:54.3, warding off a game challenge from runner up Watching Brief N. The Dylan Davis trainee notched her 4th win in 6 career starts. Live racing will continue on a Monday through Wednesday (post time 4:30 p.m.) through October 22.
