Louprint back in top spot in top ten poll

Little Brown Jug winner Louprint (Sweet Lou) returned to No. 1 in the Week 15 harness racing edition of the Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll released Wednesday while Beau Jangles moved into the top five and Apex joined the Top 10.

Louprint, unbeaten in nine races this year, collected 23 of 35 first-place votes and reclaimed the poll’s leading position, which he held previously for the first seven weeks of the season. Yo Tillie, who was idle last week, dropped from No. 1 to No. 2 in the rankings. She received 10 first-place votes after spending one week in the top spot.

Miki And Minnie (idle) remained third and was followed by Metro Pace champ Beau Jangles and Twin B Joe Fresh (idle) in rounding out the upper half of the Top 10.

The next five in the rankings were Sylvia Hanover, Lexus Kody, Super Chapter, Emoticon Legacy and Apex.

Sylvia Hanover won the Fillies & Mares FFA at Woodbine Mohawk Park, Lexus Kody finished a dead-heat first with Periculum in the Caesars Trotting Classic, Emoticon Legacy won the Canadian Trotting Classic, and Apex captured the Mohawk Million.

Prince Hal Hanover dropped out of the Top 10.

The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll, which will continue weekly on Wednesdays through the Grand Circuit season, does not determine year-end awards. The members of the U.S. Harness Writers Association vote on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year, and Horse of the Year.

Rankings based on the votes of harness racing media representatives on a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis.
