On Wednesday’s (Sept 24) harness racing program at Northville Downs at Barry Expo Center, former Michigan Stakes champion Two Birds Onestone (Black Daniels – She B Jeebeez), with driver Jennifer Main, smashed the all-time track record that was set just one week ago by Red Righthand Man N (Kody Massey).

In race six on the afternoon, favorite Born Wild (Well Said – Artistic Heart) left hard for the early lead and seated Chanceitlikeitis (Kody Massey) in the pocket and Two Birds Onestone in the three hole.

The top three had more than five lengths on the rest of the field as they set fractions of 28, 56.3, and 1:25.4 to the three-quarters as Jennifer Main guided her charge to the outside to challenge the leaders. As they came to the stretch, Two Birds Onestone flew away with the the lead to win by a two and a half-length margin over Born Wild and stopped the clock in an astonishing time of 1:54.2 which lowered the previous record by three-fifths of a second. The win established a new record for an aged pacing gelding and a new all-time track record.

Two Birds Onestone is owned by Carl Putnam, Jr.  and is trained by Steve Main. The five-year-old gelding has now earned $ 335,688 and secured a record of 79 starts 32 wins 12 seconds and 5 thirds.

Driver David Lake led all drivers on the afternoon with three wins while John Moody had two. Trainer Kent Hess had a training double on the day as well.

Racing resumes Tuesday (Sept 30) and Wednesday (Oct 1) in Hastings. MI at Northville Downs with a first race post time of 1pm ET each day.
