Some of the biggest names in the Ron Burke Stable are entered in Tuesday morning’s harness racing qualifiers at The Meadows.  Qualifier #1 will feature Southwind Coors, winner of 8 races and more than $274,000 this season.  The second prep race of the day will include Sippinonsearoc, 6-for-13 this year and closing in on a half million in earnings for 2025.  Qualifier #4 sees Bythemissal return to the site of his Adios win from a few seasons back.  He has 4 wins this year and a mark of 1:46.4.  Finally, Lexus Kody, one of the hottest trotters in the sport right now, will go postward in the fifth and final qualifier.  Lexus Kody is now 9-for-18 this year with a markf of 1:49.1 and has banked over $1 million.  Qualifiers start at 10:30am and can be seen live on the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association’s Facebook page.

UNDER THE LIGHTS, ONE MORE TIME

Hollywood Casino at The Meadows will host its final Friday evening card of the year this week, with a 5:10pm post.  It will be the track’s annual Pink Out night to raise awareness for breast cancer.  Included as part of the card will be an all-female driver’s race, and corgi races will take place between parimutuel events.  Wednesday and Thursday racing remain at the usual 12:45pm, and all cards for the remainder of 2025 will be at that time as well.

WELCOME KIM VINCENT

The Meadows has a new face on the track with every race, as Kim Vincent has come on board as the track’s new starter and patrol judge.  Vincent has been a longtime horsemen in the Mid-Atlantic area.

TROTTERS FEATURED THURSDAY

The $18,000 Open Handicap Trot will headline the Thursday card, with a full field of 9 going to the gate in the sixth race on the card.  Last week’s winner Smoking Jet leaves from post 3.  Winslow the 4YO gelding from the Dana Kahrig barn, has drawn post 8 for his first venture into the top level.  In four local starts, Winslow has 3 wins and a second.  Two starts ago, he equaled the track record for 4YO geldings with a 1:51.3 mark, then lowered it to 1:51.1 last week.
